How do I create 3D tracks with AI in Slapshot?
Learn how to create AI-powered 3D tracks in just a few simple steps with Slapshot
- Select the shot: Start by choosing the video shot you want to work on from the “Shots” panel.
- Click +Track Camera to start Tracking
- Add Camera Info (optional) : If Camera details are available you can add them at this stage. Else, simply click Track Camera to proceed.
To get the most accurate track, the more camera details you can provide the better, but none is fine too. Here are what each parameters does:- Working FPS : This is the FPS you would like the camera back at.
- Lens Info (Fixed / Floating) : Choose "Fixed" to lock the value you have entered or "Floating" to let the AI optimize this value for the best solve.
- Sensor Width / Height : Defines the camera’s imaging area; if you're not sure best to leave blank. Same behavior for fixed/floating controls.
- Scene Scale: Provide the Estimated closest point (estimated distance from the camera to the closest point in your shot) and Estimated farthest point (estimated distance from the camera to the farthest point in your). This scales the point cloud to match the real world scale.
- Lens Distortion: Select "True" if you want to account for optical distortion from the lens. If set to "True", ST maps with distortion calculations will be generated and included in your export. Select "False" if you aren't well versed in using distortion in your compositing pipeline.
- Export Track: Click “Export” and choose “Selected shot only”. Then hit “Next”. In the “Export” panel that appears on the right, click “Export” to begin generating the output tracks.
Tip: You can monitor progress in the Exports tab (top menu bar) and download the final track to your local drive once it's ready.
